Ralph Lauren’s PoloTech shirt is the crown jewel in the inaugural collection of a broader athletic-focused Polo Sport brand—at the intersection of performance technology and lifestyle fashion, aka, athlesiure.
The “second-skin” fabric workout shirt uses embedded silver fibers and a sensor-filled black box that snap into the shirt near the rib cage to track biometric stats. Metrics include heart rate and variability, breathing depth and recovery, intensity of movement, energy output and stress levels, steps taken and calories burned. And all for $295 per shirt.
